Coming off the most successful year in the franchise's history, with a record-breaking 62 box offices records and more than two million fans, the iconic Harlem Globetrotters are primed to showcase their 2010 "Magical Memories" World Tour at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at the University of Northern Iowa McLeod Center with world-renowned entertainment for fans young and old.

Now in its 84th consecutive season of touring the world, the Globetrotters' show features "Big Easy" Lofton and "Flight Time" Lang, who recently starred in the Emmy Award-winning CBS reality hit, "The Amazing Race;" "Special K" Daley; Scooter Christensen; Handles Franklin and Ant Atkinson.

Sports Illustrated praised the show as "the sports equivalent of comfort food," in its March 2009 feature article on the Globetrotters titled, "Still Crazy After All These Years."

"The Harlem Globetrotters are the epitome of world-class family fun," said Michael Kenney, the Globetrotters' senior vice president, live event marketing. "You'll want to get your tickets now for an experience the whole family will be talking about for years to come."

The tour is sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, Spalding and America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses. The Globetrotters will perform nearly 270 shows in more than 200 cities in 44 states, the District of Columbia, five Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through the first week of May 2010.

Tickets start at $19 and are available for purchase at all UNItix locations by calling (319) 273-4849 or online at www.unitix.uni.edu. Individual and group ticket information and scout tickets also can be found on the Harlem Globetrotters' official Web site, www.harlemglobetrotters.com.

The Original Harlem Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining more than 130 million fans and crossing barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life. The Globetrotters are one of only six teams to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
