News Hawkeye Offering Iowa Coaching Authorization Beginning January 8 Posted 5 January 2010 Hawkeye Community College is offering the Iowa Coaching Authorization Certification course during two weekends in January. A coaching authorization allows individuals to legally coach in the state of Iowa and be employed as a head or assistant coach in any type of interscholastic athletic activity. This 55-hour course will be taught in six days: Fridays, January 8 and 22 from 5:00-10:00pm, Saturdays, January 9 and 23, and Sundays, January 10 and 24 from 8:00am-8:15pm. Classes will take place at Hawkeye's Cedar Falls Center, 5330 Nordic Drive. The cost of the course is $350. The class format will complete the state required course work, coaching application, waiver, and fingerprinting. For more information or to register, call 319-296-4005.
